This was a fun design project that took inspiration from locks in the real world. While disk detainer locks aren't incredibly common, they have picked up momentum due to their rugged design. I hope my design helps others appreciate the intricate simplicity of the mundane objects we see around us every day!
Parts needed:
1x Body
1x Core
1x Actuator
1x Sidebar
1x Top Cover
1x Shackle & Ball Bearings
10x Disks
9x Spacers
1x Key
Disks and spacers have incredibly tight Z tolerances. They must be 1.6mm for disks and 0.5mm for spacers +/-0.05mm. Disks are numbered 0-3 and have an fdisk variant. Fdisks have false gates in them, which is an anti-pick feature. They make no difference to normal operation and can be substituted for normal disks. You will need 10 disks corresponding to whatever key you have chosen. The sample key requires 2x d
