The exploding wumpus is a herbivorous mammal that herds in grasslands, falls asleep in the sun, and explodes violently when struck physically on any surface of its body. The explosion is always proportional to the force applied, and is never registered by the wumpus in any perceivable way. Most Wumpi simply become ever-more cratered as unavoidable everyday collisions gradually wear them into irregular husks of fur and toenail.
