A good friend of mine lost her son to a drug overdose and she asked me to create something educational for an event related to opiod addiction with a specific focus on Fentanyl.
As some of you may know, Fentanyl is an extremely potent synthetic opiod with as little as 3 miligrams being considered a lethal dose. North America and other parts of the world are currently in the grips of a devastating opiod epidemic with several thousands of deaths reported each year. Due to the prevalence of strong opiods like Fentanyl being mixed with other recreational drugs, the risk of overdose is extremely high and unfortunately the grim epidemic is projected to continue escalating. The mayor of Vancouver, Canada which has the largest open-air drug market in the world, for example, recently stated that the Fentanyl crisis his city is facing is nothing less than a "bloodbath".
