You can buy G9 sockets from Amazon for about $2 each and a G9 LED for about a buck. Add in a switch of your choice and you have an inexpensive light that will come on when you open a cabinet or closet door. 4W LED put out about the same as a 40W incandescent bulb at a tenth of the power consumption.
