Sooner or later some of these engines will find their way to Africa and by that time all those fancy schwamzy laser sintered, 3d printed brackets will be full of fatigue cracks and way past their sell by date. This is the African replacement design. Ecologically friendly because the angle iron is recycled from a scrapped Land Rover chassis and socially responsible because its made by hand - thereby another family can be fed through this job creation. We are not too concerned about weight, because here in Africa things must be strong and made of steel. If the plane is too heavy because of these brackets we will merely remove some unnecessary equipment like life jackets and make sure we do not fly over water. As can be seen, the bracket is made entirely with hand tools as electricity is a luxury here. The file is used to soften sharp edges to comply with Health and safety regulations. Not shown are the bench vice and the sledge hammer. That is our Finite Element Analysis station. If the part bends or breaks we will use thicker material, if it is undamaged, it is obviously over designed. The part is painted silver to reflect heat in order to keep its working temperature as close to 75 F as possible and to hide rust. Here in Africa they will probably sell for around 50 cents a pair, but they will cost the American Military around $ 5 000 to keep in line with the prices paid for hammers and toilet rolls. Our version 2 will probably have slotted holes to provide for lack of accuracy - if we can find a small enough round file. Our contact details will be provided to the lowest bidder.
