This .stl file was made for MATH 493: Math Through 3D Printing at George Mason University, Spring 2016.

This is an Iterated Function System (IFS) with a quadrilateral base. The IFS was created by changing the parameters of the .scad file. This changes the pattern that the IFS converges to, and the base shape can be changed by adjusting the polygon command.

IFSs are used to construct fractals. Specifically, they are a finite set of contraction mappings on a complete metric space. A common example of an IFS is the Sierpinski Triangle. These files allow you to create your own IFS.

Note: The .scad file does not have the same parameters as were used to print the .stl file.

This IFS was based on work done by Evelyn Sander, GMU, 2016, Jim Kelly, Centre College, and on code written in 2015 by Torsten Paul .
