The outer surface, resulting from a 0.2mm layer and a 0.4 nozzle, features a monotonic surface pattern that bestows a uniform and clean appearance, reflecting a modern and sophisticated sensibility. The 20% adaptive cubic filling technique used for this element not only ensures the stability and durability required for such a tall and slender object but simultaneously maximizes the lightness of the vase while minimizing material consumption. Alternatively, a rectilinear filling combined with a rather opaque white filament is recommended, especially if the object is placed under direct lighting. However, it is possible to experiment with different colors and fillings as desired. The printing of the vase element does not require supports or rafts. The second element of the Io vase, a bold red cylinder, acts as a visual and structural counterbalance to the delicate side and overhanging tower. Despite its decorative function, this component is essential for the design's integrity, providing implicit support that allows the structure to remain upright. The use of a 10-15% rectilinear filling for this part and a concentric pattern for the top and bottom surfaces reflects attention to detail and efficiency, as these choices optimize strength and reduce material consumption without compromising aesthetics.
