I designed this LCD case for the OpenAstroTracker to integrate a cable different of the original ribbon.
The ribbon pass has been removed and replaced by a hole adapted to a cable gland M12 (from Syntec on the picture).
The cable is a standard VGA extension cable splitted in 2 pieces. This allow to disconnect the LCD from the motherboard of the OpenAstroTracker for transportation / storage.
I have to remove the RESET button (not very useful on this box for me) because the VGA cable used has only 9 wires instead of 10.
I have added a hole to access the backlight adjustement with a little screwdriver.
I have modified the holder to be screwed on a wooden board. The original holder can be used with this box for other cases.
Assembly needs:
- 2x screws M3x8mm
- 4x screws M3x12mm
- 4x M3 heat install brass inserts
The wiring need a VGA extension cable (or maybe a serial one with sub-D9 or one simple 9 wires cable) and Dupont crimp contacts with housing.
