Lifting device

This is a device for people who can not lift their arm higher than table level. It can be operated with arms below table or even with a foot (need to adapt the handle for that). This is the basic structure; you will need to add attachments to make it functional. It clamps to a table top surface. As one moves the bottom handle back and forth or up and down, the top lever does the same thing. If you attach a sandwich holder or a fork to the top lever this device can allow individuals some independence in feeding themselves without using trunk flexion. For children with limitations in reach, one could attach a puppet holder or clip to hold a doll or stuffed animal (light) to allow play in vertical planes. One could also attach a paintbrush or bingo marker to make art projects.
