Light Switch Extender

Light switch extender for wide, or "decora" style switches. Allows kids or anyone with difficultly reaching a switch to more easily turn the lights off and on.

I made the extender bar about as long as I could fit on my bed. The knob needs to be glued onto the handle. It was made in separate pieces to avoid the need for print supports. Print out 2 copies of the standoff, and either sand them or scale to ~%98 for smooth motion.

For mounting, you'll need longer 6-32 screws. I had some 1" and they were fine. Remove the faceplate screws (but not the faceplate), hold the standoffs in place, screw them on, then snap the slider bar on and you're done.
