This is a training tool used to teach people about Lock picking. It allows you to visualize and feel what a binder pin is and how to detect one vs a non binder pin.
Assembly:
-Put pins into base unit with a spring under each one
-You can use a spring from a pin or 3d print one of your own from any number of sources.
-Place top piece over base unit and align pins to they fit thru holes.
-Slider bar fits in side hold and slides into the pins
The slider bar represents the lock core rotating and causing the pin to "Bind"
The pins are offset intentionally to demonstrate the small variations in actual locks "the reason we are able to pick lock in the first place"
Press the slider bar against the pins laterally
As it hits the Pins, only one will "Bind" you can press it down causing that pin to be "Set"
The slider bar will then advance to next binding pin
After all pins are set the slider bar will cover up all pins representing an open lock
This is still a work in progre
