### Context:
This is part of a project to convert a Meade LX200GPS to the OnStep system. The project is documented in "Conversion of LX200GPS to OnStepX", by Richard Francis, 30 April 2025, available in the Files section of [email protected].
### Fabrication:
This part is an optional alternative for the 3d-printed which supports the optical sensor for the home disk on the dec axis.
The idea is that it can be used to provide some counterweight in the left fork axis, if it is produced in cast iron.
However, we have also found that it also offers some advantage in the case it is produced by 3d printing in plastic, as it gives some extra rigidity. It has some holes around the edges designed for ty-wraps.
