This 'thing' is a simple press for preparing permanent microscope slides. The idea is you mount your specimen using nail polish and place the press on top of the slide cover for 2 hours until the nail polish totally dries without air bubbles.

Directions:

1 Place a small thin amount of nail polish and place your specimen on it. Then drop a bit of nail polish on top of the specimen and cover with a cover glass. (do not put too much polish)

2 Place it in the press holding down the cover glass and add weight to the basket. 25 grams should be enough to spread it thin. In the image I used pennies. Bolts are also good.

3. Let dry for 2 hours in the press. Removing it too early might cause tiny bubbles,

There are 5 parts and they should all snap together except maybe the rod, you might need glue for that. In the image I used a metal rod (diameter 1.104 cm 11 cm tall). The rod is included but you can do what I did and use a rod or a wooden dowel just be sure it's around 1.1 cm
