This mini compost bin is a fun and practical way to understand composting basics at home. It’s designed for small-scale composting, experimentation, or educational purposes—not for producing large amounts of compost, but to help visualize the natural process of decomposition.  The 3MF file includes two versions:– A compact model, ideal for classrooms, balconies, or small kitchens– A slightly larger version, scalable and more versatile for home use  The system includes:• A bottom container to collect compost tea (liquid runoff)• A perforated middle chamber for airflow and drainage• A simple lid to retain humidity and keep everything tidy  As shown in the photo, once stacked, the pieces fit together securely by resting one on top of the other—no clips or threads needed. It’s simple and stable.  How to get started:Add a handful of garden soil at the base to introduce natural microbes. Then alternate layers of:– Dry browns: shredded paper, dry leaves, sawdust, cardboard– Wet greens: vegetable peels, tea bags, coffee grounds, wilted salad, banana peel Keep the contents moist (like a wrung-out sponge), stir weekly, and avoid meat, dairy, citrus, or oily waste. After a few weeks to months, you’ll observe visible decomposition and liquid collection. It won’t produce rich compost like large bins, but it’s perfect to learn and observe the natural cycle.  Placement tips:Great for indoor use or shaded balconies—avoid direct sunlight or exposure to rain.  Bonus tips:– Add a small mesh at the bottom to prevent clogs– Let kids decorate it for STEM learning– Print in PETG to resist moisture and extend durability  Compact, functional, and educational—ideal for homes, schools, and curious minds 🌱
