Each unit is self sustaining with buried storage tanks for water, oxygen and radioisotope generator. The canopy portion of the bridge units can be retracted into the main module during harsh dust storms to limit damage and prevent any damage from compromising the other modules. The center module is 2 stories for living and working. The modules are designed using 7 sides to deflect wind. The 7 sided design also maximizes volume to surface area ratio while minimizing construction complexity vs cylinders, domes and octagon requiring fewer walls/surfaces. Modular design would allow the base to expand as the mission expanded going from 4 living chambers, 2 waste units, 2 growing pods a large lab/recreation pod and a machine bay as detailed in this model to a thriving Martian community. The modular pieces can be printed in any combination (unless you have a house size printer you will have to scale it to your favorite play set size) and start assembling your Mars base or Martian city.
