Nevermore

the Nevermore-class privateer vessel was primarily built in the secret shipyards of the Monolith coalition, although some of its parts can be traced to outside sources. It boasts twelve rapid-fire point defense "Blizzard"-type railguns, as well as eight medium-weight "Lightning Storm" type railguns. It boasts a small missile armament near the nose, capapble of launching eight bomb-pumped laser missiles simultaneously. Its primary engine was built in the secret Monolith yards, but spectrographic analysis shows it to be an antimatter-fuelled inertial confinement engine, a formidable weapon in its own right. A unique feature of the Nevermore is its ability to land and even hover over planetary surfaces, thanks to the four swivelling jet pods, two mounted in each wing. These serve a double duty: in space, they remain spinning and are used as massive gyroscopes to keep the ship amazingly stable while its guns are firing.
