Oldham coupling is a type of mechanical coupling used to connect two parallel but misaligned shafts, transmitting torque between them. It consists of three main parts: Two hubs (connected to the driving and driven shafts). One central disc (called the intermediate member or slider) that fits between the hubs. The central disc has two tongues at 90° to each other on opposite sides, which fit into corresponding slots on the hubs. This design allows it to compensate for small amounts of lateral (parallel) misalignment between the shafts
