This is that stupid pull that always breaks or the kids eat it. The little pull on the top of an oscillating fan that allows you to stop it from oscillating when you pull it up, or pus it down for full oscillation.
The diameter of the stem hole it 6.5 mm; use it if it helps :) I hope it brings you coolness as it did me.
