Plotter using CD ROM parts

Toy designed to plot with. Designed to fit on my DIY CNC, but should be usable on other designs.

Using the shafts and steppers out of 2 CD/DVD ROM's.

Now using it for scribing on copper clad too!

Its not for the faint of hart and will take a little tweaking to set the current and voltage to run it proper. The motors can get slightly hot in the cases where a little more torque is required.

So far got many hours of fun from it.

Apply some wheel bearing grease to the screws but not the shafts!
For the pen i used a Retro NEON GEL 0.7mm so you would need to mod it to take the pens you can find.

For the pen i remove the spring from the bottom cut it and insert it on the other end to
give the spring action on the tip that is required.

There is a pic for the scribe assy and if you mod that for a pen the tip can be rigid.

After printing drill the shaft holes to final size, if you make it too tight the motors will be to weak to move and too large you will get slop. Sa
