It's Summer Time!!
Fun Pool Floaty to hold your drink in the pool
Grab a drink, set it in, and watch it float
This model is completely functional and works for all cans of standard diameter or smaller.
PRINTING RECOMMENDATIONS:
Supports: Yes
Infill: ≤10%
I recommend using lightning at 10%, it offers support, but keeps the inside hollow enough to float well
Walls: 2-3
Material: any temperature-resistant plastic
DESIGN JOURNEY:
What do we all want to do in the summer? Have a cold drink or go swimming. But why not both? I looked for existing designs, but none of them were functional or sturdy, so I decided to create a hollow ring that could fit a cup. To match the summer theme, I made it look like a rescue floaty. I calculated the volume of water it needed to displace to be buoyant and stable, and made it large enough to avoid tipping. My first model was slightly too tight to hold a full, pressurized can, so I updated the model, and now it's good to go!
