Proteasome Assembly Kit

The proteasome is the cell's recycler. Within this barrel-shaped complex, proteins are literally torn apart and chewed to shreds. How is such a brutal destruction machine controlled? Well, through the use of various caps and adaptor complexes of course!

This set of models includes the regulatory complex from trypanosomes (1FNT) "proteasomecap.stl"; the activator complex from yeast (1VSY) "proteasomeactivator.stl"; and finally the ubiquitin identifying complex also from yeast (4B4T) "ubidentifier.stl"

Each regulatory complex has also been modified to contain pegs that fit into holes in the flat sides of the proteasome barrel. Thus, each complex cam be attached reversibly to either side of the proteasome, assuming your printer is properly calibrated.
