REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY:
M3x15mm screw
M3 hex nut
ALTERNATIVE: Any 3mm axle will do
2.5-3mm skewer (bamboo skewers from kroger, diameter is about 2.9mm on my calipers)
I wanted a support for my foam plane wings that was fairly low profile, lightweight, and adjustable so I didn't need to print different angles or lengths.
I had about 2,000 3ishmm bamboo skewers so I just sized the hole for that. There is a small amount of play to allow for glue, if your printer has an expanded first few layers (elephant's foot) you may need to chamfer the hole a bit.
Cut the skewer or 3mm carbon rod to the correct size, and do a dry fit to get the angles and placement correct. use whatever glue you prefer to make it all stick. There are tiny reference holes I use to drive 1mm staples through the foam. You may be able to ream it out to an m2 screw but I have not tried this.
To lock the pieces together once you find the right angles, just tighten the screws slightly, not too much since it
