Reuleaux rolls have a uniquely rounded triangular shape, yet they perform just as effectively as traditional cylindrical rolls when used to support a block of material sliding on top of a flat surface. This remarkable efficiency is due to the constant width of a Reuleaux roll: while rolling, the distance between two opposite sides of its cross-section remains the same, just as it does for a cylindrical roll. As a result, whether a block slides on Reuleaux rolls or cylindrical ones, it stays at a consistent height above the ground. To achieve the best results in experiments, I recommend placing two thin rubber bands around each roll. This enhances friction with the sliding surfaces, ensuring smoother and more reliable performance.
