Design and calculation memory A concept based on a bisupported extensible scissor with ball joints is presented. This rudimentary design focuses on reliability in the face of unforeseen and unavoidable situations that lead to breakage: If it inevitably breaks, the failure should be very localized to one element (an individual scissor) without creating a "chain reaction" that disables the entire system.
