The walls are 1/8" thick, it is up to you if you want to shrink it. The original is 3" long. the base will help the cave stay stationary in a bare bottom tank and can be hidden in a gravel bottom. I went online and it seemed like this was an optimum size for apistos. Ancistrus should like it too, maybe a little bit bigger. I printed it with the open end up, there was support only under the base.
