An adapter for a spool, that fits a bearing in one side and the inner spool hole in the other.
It ensures that the spool is placed centered on the rod for smooth turning.
Spool inner diameter: 52.1mm (manufacturer says 53mm)
Bearing: Type 608 (skateboard size, diameter 22mm, depth 7mm)
I made this for an 8mm rod, but it should fit up to 11 mm as long as the bearings support it.
I attached the SCAD file, so you can easily adjust dimensions.
Instructions:
Stuff needed:
- 2x printed parts (one on each end of the spool)
- 2x bearings type 608
- 1x 8mm rod
- 2x M8 nuts
- 2x M8 swimmers
The bearings should just fit the bearing holes with a little pressure.
- Insert the bearings into the prints
- Insert the prints into the spool
- Put there whole thing on a rod. Be sure to use swimmers between the nuts and the bearings.
Assemble like on the picture on your own spool holder.
