I wanted to stack my collection of Spool boxes but wanted to be able to rotate the individual spools freely. You know to get to a box in the back without having everything fall apart.

What I did was make a thrust bearing or lazy susan to place between the spools and between the bottom spool and the floor.
Print 2 of the bearing cage for this. Put 1/4 inch bearings or 6mm bearings in one cage. Glue the second on tho the first cage. Make sure the glue is not going to get on the bearings. Only glue near the alignment pins.

I also need to keep the axis of the spools lined up. Sine I have a couple of different spools, Hatchbox and 3D Solutech, I wanted to be able to stack them in any order. I made a 2 part alignment assembly. This keeps the spool axis lined up regardless of spool ID size and keeps the thrust bearing centered.
You should print 2 cores for each spool. One for the top and one for the bottom.
FYI: In the stack picture the bottom spool (orange) is 3D Solutech. Ot
