This thing removes the constraint on the top of the threaded rod on a Hictop Prusa i3. The reason for this is to keep the wobble towards the top of the rod away from the x axis carriage. This is a much better solution than putting a bearing at the top of the threaded rod further constraining it and forcing the wobble towards the carriage thus causing striations in the print. The printed part on the left was printed after the installation of the rod delete and the part on the right was with the stock setup. The exact same layer height and all print settings were used and no other adjustments of any kind were made to the printer so the proof is in the pudding. The part is designed to fit a little tight but no filing is necessary. Simply take off the acrylic piece on the printer and bolt this one on.
