ToolboxCraft

Toolbox Crafts is a software and 3D printable hardware kit designed to easily turn your 3D printer into a multipurpose DIY 2D device to plot, cut and engrave. The software integrates into your slicer and replaces the sliced 3D output with a 2D version (taking the first layer only) adapted to the toolhead in use. Alternatively, you can set it to ignore the slicer input and use other sources (image, cad and map files) you choose to create your design. You can also run it standalone (for integration with other workflows), and always locally, no cloud. This project is in Beta. Check the instructions included with the software for usage details and warnings. It currently has basic tool support, with a preview mode and file conversion for PNGs, DXFs and OSMs (you can also enter an address and radius, and it will plot the map) It can plot, cut and engrave. And combine these within a print, to plot and cut a postcard, for example. On the hardware side, a set of printable parts are provided to adapt to different types of tools, with a design that makes swapping parts quick and easy. This tool set opens up the types of materials you can use and combine: paper, cardboard, wood, metal, felt, etc. And not just thin materials on the plate surface, you can work with volume objects, for example to paint or engrave a wooden jewelry box.
