I designed a spool holder for my printer which has very little room for a spot on my desk.
The barrel self centers the filament roll and hasn't fallen off in about 20 hours of printing.
It uses 2 608 bearings and an 8mm threaded rod with 2 or 4 nuts/ 5/16" threaded rod with 2 or 4 nuts. 2 screws are required to mount to the desk.
