This is a further development of my previous submitted cable connector (thing:4709435).
I designed **fully parametrized USB Cable Protector** using Fusion360. There are two versions for you to adapt to your connectors:
*USBRoundedCorners.f3d*: Use this file for USB connectors with rounded corners such as USB A (see images) or B.
*USBHalfCircle.f3d*: Use this file for USB connectors, where the width of the connector describes a half circle such as USB C (see images) and Apple Lightening.
I printed a USB A and USB C protectors using the enclosed stl files.
I used FLEX TPU98A for printing the connectors. Two comments:
+ FLEX is often printed with the print fan turned off. In my experience, self cooling is not enough and I had to turn on the fan to 30% after the first few layers.
+ Bridging with FLEX is difficult. So I made sure, that junction/transition from the connector to the cable enforcer has an angle of 45°.
If you would like to use other materials (PLA, PETG)
