The Mod here is of a pierced shoe to add rigidity to the design rather than the mod mentioned below.
While there are several clamps out there, I like the design of this one. This is a mostly functional modification as follows: First while the drive screw and end bar serve their primary purpose of being correct for the model, they do not hold up to any use because the layer direction is across where is should be down the length in order to eliminate support and printing undersized creates possible issues with thread to fit. In addition it was never intended to take working forces which results in massive bowing of the rails. To solve these I tapped the head stock 1/20 (be careful the PLA is very soft and will tap any direction you point, hole or not) for a piece of all-thread with a custom knob. Second I cut down a piece of 1/8 plywood to add rigidity to the bottom. At this point the weak point is the plastic thread in the head stock though it does still provide enough force for now.
