I needed a wall mount for a 4.5KG spool. It uses a 1/2" copper spindle. Yes, it is UGLY AF, but it was the first thing I designed using Sketchup for printing. All of the other spool holders were for the smaller size spools. You could use it for the smaller spools, but why would you? There are so many better looking holders out there.
A 4.5KG spool will only allow one spool between studs.
